Putar Alam Café

It’s not just noodles, chips, ‘capitalist’ sodas and ‘sky kingdom juice’ that’ll be served at Putar Alam Café. Because Azizan Paiman – the Malaysian artist behind it all – will be both bartender and mediator in an intimate space where visitors are encouraged to hold conversations about anything, no holds barred. The space is set with a transistor radio, television and the artist’s recent works, as this interactive performance raises questions about the media and its power in shaping our beliefs and understanding of the things around us.
