The Substation has kicked off its first fund-raising event of the year, Objects of Affections. Throughout the month of March, the event will unveil original artworks created by Singaporean artists on its Instagram. These artworks are contributed by 20 emerging and established artists to support the artist development of The Substation as well as for its arts education programmes and workshops.
The original artworks include sculptures, ceramics, paintings, tapestry and photography, and they will be available for purchase on The Substation’s Instagram and Facebook page daily at 12pm – for a price of $500 each. Some of the unique art pieces include the works of visual artists Ahmad Abu Bakar, Tang Ling-Nah, Vincent Leow, illustrator/artist Mary Bernadette Lee and filmmaker Sun Koh. According to The Substation’s new artistic director Ezzam Rahma, this fundraising event reflects the generous ongoing relationship between art makers and The Substation. It is also an opportunity for art lovers and collectors to acquire original artworks done by local artists at a reasonable price.
So start building your very own art collection and purchase those artworks by contacting The Substation via admin@substation.org or joanna@substation.org.
