Time Out says

In conjunction with Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, Deck presents its multidisciplinary exhibition ThisConnect: Threading Worlds. The exhibition features works by social artist duo Hunny & Lummy, whose art focus on the role of an artist as a social healer. With their art, the duo aims to create experiences within a safe space that encourages the audience to question and uncover the root of their personal truths.

The two works for this show, Tipping Point and I Feel You, explore the theme of human connections and our ability to be our authentic selves. They reflect the subtle dynamics and invisible forces that influence our experiences as we go through life, carrying the burdens of our emotional baggage from the past and present.

After all, the topic of loss, pain and vulnerability are often misaligned between our internal and external worlds. Even more so when we leave little room to breathe in the hustle and bustle of life.

Through the documentation of performative, instructional and participatory art, the artists and participants individually and collectively go through a healing process within the safe space. The pieces of work reflect courage, love, and the greatest power a person can have as they return to their most authentic being and innocence once again. ThisConnect: Threading Worlds is a prelude to a full exhibition taking place from December 15 2020 to January 15 2021.

In light of the current safe distancing measures, you'll have to register prior to visiting the exhibition. Indicate the date and time here.

P.S. in case you haven't heard, Deck is calling out for community support to crowdfund a new and permanent building plan with the Save Deck Building Fund. Hop on to our story to see how you can help.
