In his 13th solo exhibition, local artist Anthony Chua portrays in his own style the shophouses found along Chinatown, Joo Chiat and Boat Quay. The five-time award winner at the annual UOB Painting of the Year competition – he’s best known for his use bold brush strokes – evokes nostalgia in his latest series of contemporary Chinese ink paintings, which highlight distinct features found in old shophouses, such as the oft-photographed Peranakan wall tiles.
