Hidden away from the bustle of Orchard Road at Lanson Place lies Copper Bar, a quiet spot where you can sip on a dram away from all that city noise. The new whisky lounge is set up by the team behind Quaich Bar, so you know that they know what they're doing. Copper is named after the metal that whisky pot stills are made from, giving the golden beverage its rounded aromas and defining characteristics.
But Copper is as much for the purist as it is for the experimental. It boasts selection whiskies from around the world, including India and South Africa, on top of the more typical Scotch, Irish and American whiskies. While you can savour a single malt neat, you can also try it in a cocktail, as cocktails are at the heart of what it does. It also serves whisky by the carafe from $50 to encourage social drinking in a larger group alongside some seriously delicious bar grub.
