Time Out says

Rasa Space might just be one of, if not the biggest opening in Singapore's nightlife scene in 2025. The massive 6,000 square feet space sits right in the heart of the CBD at Republic Plaza, overlooking the busy intersection and rush hour traffic in the most Midtown Manhattan way possible. It's easy to pass it off as a nightclub — the space is designed by Berlin's Studio Karhard, behind iconic clubs like Berghain and Kiev's K41, after all — when it's way more than that.

Over at the Hall, you'll spot a sweeping cocktail bar and gelato counter, leading into a swanky restaurant space with sky-high ceilings and windows. It's here where Southeast Asian-inspired tipples (from $22) are shaken up, with headliners like the lapsang souchong negroni ($22) and a quirky bak kwa manhattan ($24) to keep things interesting. Must-tries, however, are the frozen dessert cocktails like the Cantaloop Rush ($22) and cempedak lassi ($22), spiked with Bombay Sapphire gin and Phuket's Chalong Bay rum. Passing on the booze? Rasa's got a decent line-up of alcohol-free picks, including a spritzy Rasa Tonic ($15) and indulgent ondeh ondeh or cempedak-yoghurt shakes ($16).

And if you're feeling peckish, wolf down loaded hot dogs by Boss Dawg in seven flavour combinations (from $15), from the beefy Chilli Bully with spicy beef con carne, to smoked chicken sausage doused with shoyu kombu mayo, chicken floss and seaweed. Or chomp down on burger stacks by Chix Hot Chicken, tater tots, popcorn chicken, and other go-to comfort food. If you're just pining for some dessert, visit the gelato-sorbet counter with some nine flavours (from $6 per scoop) to pick from, including alcoholic options.

Mosey on to the Hall once dinner is settled — here's where the real sensory experience is, complete with acoustic velvet drapes, a DJ console, and of course, a flawless sound system. House and electronic music fill the air from Wednesdays through Saturdays, with everything in between from UK garage and 2-step, to 90s tunes, reggae, downtempo, and funk. The versatile, multi-purpose room occasionally transforms into a comedy hall or a space for talks, gigs, theatrical performances, and other events.

The vibe
Floor-to-ceiling windows and high ceilings give some much-needed breathing space that most clubs lack, while the dining area sports a tasteful, eclectic mix of furniture. Visit in the evenings for quiet sundowners or later at night for high-energy beats.

The food
Straightforward bar bites — think loaded hot dogs, burgers, and finger food to line the stomach while you party and drink. Plus a gelato bar near the counter if you're just craving a scoop or two.

The drink
Find a distinctly Southeast Asian-inspired roster of tipples on the menu. Most have bright, citrusy profiles, with the occasional spirit-forward number. Highlights are the frozen dessert cocktails. Non-alcoholic options are available to cater to all kinds of partygoers.

Time Out tip
Keep a lookout on Rasa Space's Instagram page for announcements on its latest events and Sayang Sunday Market pop-ups, featuring a line-up of local arts and crafts, jewellery, fashion, and food booths.

What’s on

Somewhere Out There Festival Afterparty

Wrapped up at the Somewhere Out There Festival but not quite ready to call it a night? Keep the energy going at Rasa, where the afterparty carries on into the night. Kuala Lumpur-based DJ Roshan Menon will take the decks with a genre-blending mix of electronic, funk, jazz and hip-hop. Local duo Kunda will follow with their signature Afro and Latin house grooves, while DJ Raja Rani brings a set that weaves deep house beats with multi-cultural influences. Doors open from 8pm for those keen to settle in early, with the party kicking off properly from 10.30pm until late. Entry is free for festival-goers with a Somewhere Out There Festival wristband, while tickets for everyone else start from $21.

Exposure Therapy; Matcha Rave Volume 2

Yes, we’re all familiar with the typical rave: pounding techno, flashing lights and the inevitable next-day hangover. But for those after a healthier way to party, there’s something a little different on the horizon: a matcha rave. That’s right – matcha, not margaritas. Exposure Therapy: Matcha Rave Volume 2 returns to Rasa on August 16 where you’ll kick off at 3pm with a mat Pilates session designed to reconnect you with your body and build strength. Mats are available to rent for $15, but feel free to bring your own. From 4pm to 8pm, the rave proper begins. Sip on a handcrafted matcha drink by Habit while DJs Shahan, Swtlkr and Li.A take over the decks with genre-blending sounds to move to.
