Sago House

If your favourite bartender had a favourite bar (other than their own, of course), Sago House would probably be it. This eclectic Duxton Hill spot is the result of three industry veterans coming together to boldly defy odds during the pandemic lockdown. As to how that turned out? Its handful of 50 Best Bars awards speak for themselves.

The space looks chaotic, but endearingly so. Much of the interior was built by hand from upcycled materials, while the bar counter is plastered with a multitude of stickers, and kooky-looking monsters by artist Distort Monsters cover one wall. This ‘busy’ look seems to tie in with how things are constantly moving here, and by that, we mean a menu that changes every single week. This also means the highly adept bartenders are continuously learning and creating new cocktail recipes, another risk taken by the founding trio, but one that has clearly paid off.
