While we’ll never bid goodbye to good ol’ sheet masks, here are five unique face masks to mix things up.

1) Blithe Patting Splash Mask

Blithe Patting Splash Mask

Trust the South Koreans to come up with a face mask that delivers results in only – wait for it – 15 seconds. Inspired by the Korean traditional cleansing method of washing with rice water, this patting splash mask from Blithe is a concentrated liquid-type mask that claims to remove fine dust and dead skin cells as you pat it into your skin. Just dilute a capful of the liquid in a small basin of water, splash it on your face for 15 seconds and, voila: instantly smoother and brighter skin. There are three types to pick from: Energy Yellow Citrus and Honey for brightening and radiance; Soothing and Healing Green Tea for soothing and calming; and Rejuvenating Purple Berry for elasticity and firmness. A cheat mask for busy days, anyone?

$54. Available at Sephora.

2) Mediheal Meshpeel Black Charcoal Mask

Mud masks are great for purifying and detoxifying your skin but let’s be honest: we could do without the mess that comes with applying them. This black charcoal mask from Mediheal completely eliminates that struggle: it has a unique mesh sheet that tightens your skin just like a regular mud mask would plus its black charcoal extract draws out excess oil and impurities from your skin.

$8.90. Available at Watsons.

3) Kocostar Slice Mask Sheet

Kocostar really do know how to make masking fun: these fruit- and vegetable-themed mask packs resemble the real thing sans chopping and washing up. Don’t just limit these round masks to your face, though. Stick them on your neck, arms, legs or wherever that needs a quick pick-me-up. The flavours, so to speak, come in lemon, cucumber, tomato, watermelon and pineapple for brightening, moisturising, radiance, hydrating and elasticity, respectively.

$6. Available at Sephora.

4) Caolion Hot and Cold Pore Pack Duo

If blackheads and clogged pores are the bane of your life, consider making this hot and cold pore pack duo from Caolion a regular feature in your skincare routine – it works either as a spot treatment or over your entire face. First, the hot mask opens up your pores with its steaming effect to dislodge impurities and exfoliates as you leave it on for ten to 15 minutes. The cold mask comes after: its cooling effect helps to close your pores and control sebum.

$45. Available at Sephora.

5) SNP The Sound of Your Heart Aebong Warming Eye Mask

SNP eye mask

Here’s a reason for you to head to bed a tad bit earlier to rest your tired peepers: to strap on this warming eye mask that maintains an average temperature of 41.5 degree Celsius for 20 minutes. Don’t fret – it’s not as hot as it sounds. It warms up gradually to trap heat and steam around the eye area, and blocks out light so you can get some much-needed Z’s. With the quirky characters from South Korean webcomic series The Sound of Your Heart plastered on the packaging, you won’t have a problem spotting this range from the aisle.

$3.90. Available at Watsons.
