After an intense period of searching for the next Korean drama It girl, The ONE Star Search competition finally crowned its winner on Saturday (Aug 5) at the Wavehouse, Sentosa. Coco Wang Jing Yi emerged victorious among the 16 finalists that took to the stage last weekend. The talent search, which aims to produce the next up-and-coming Asian star, puts its contestants through five exceptional months of fitness trainings, singing and acting classes as well as community work.

Coco, the 33-year-old founder of beauty and wellness spa, SkinLabo, also juggles her role as a single mother. The blonde bombshell will be groomed by South Korean entertainment studio, CAST, for a chance to star in a short film alongside regional talents, and work with notable brands.

'I have learnt a lot through all the trainings and challenges. I am extremely excited, privileged and honoured to be crowned The ONE Star and I look forward to spreading positivism and charity once I complete my media program in Korea,' Coco says.

The pageant was filmed as a three-part video series and will be broadcasted later on.
