These kittens from The Cat Museum need a home

The cats and kittens living at The Cat Museum, Muses & Mansion of Singapore need a home, pronto.

These furry felines – affectionately known as Lion City Kitties –  are up for adoption till the end of September. After which, the museum will, unfortunately, be forced to shut it doors due to an enforcement notice issued by the Ministry of National Development. Cats that are not rehomed or relocated by then will then be potentially rendered homeless.

The Cat Museum

The Cat Museum is an entirely volunteer-run project housed in a founder Jessica Seet’s shophouse along Purvis Street. It takes in abandoned cats and kittens, and gives them a safe home to play and grow while they wait for their purr-fect adoptive ‘parents’ to come along.

Over 300 cats have been adopted so far since the museum’s opening in 2014 – and there are still a couple more waiting for their furrever home.

The closing of the museum also marks the end of Mama and Munchkins Nursery, Singapore’s only cat nursery that takes in neo-natal kittens who need to be bottled fed every three hours and their mums.

Seet plans to find a new permanent home for The Cat Museum in 2018 with a better-equipped nursery – you can aid in her efforts by donating to her fundraising campaign, or by popping in on one of the three remaining weekends.

To adopt one of these cats, visit The Cat Museum at #02-03, 8 Purvis St from now till Sep 24. Entrance is granted in 1.5 hours block from 4-7pm for Thursday and Friday, and 1-7pm for Saturday and Sunday. Admission fee is priced at a premium of $10 for kids below 10 years old and $20 for everyone else – proceeds go towards the fundraising campaign.
