Positioning itself as the block to kick off a big night out on the town, 22 on Mosque Street is former President’s Design Award winner PC Ee’s first food and beverage venture in Singapore. The long shophouse space takes its design references from underground bars in New York, and adds a regional spin with graffiti tagged by Thai artist, P7, who was flown in just for 22’s official opening. A selection of reasonably priced Thai meals, including cuisine staples phad thai with chicken or pork ($9.50) and tom yam with clear or spicy coconut broths ($9.50) help lace the stomach ahead of the drinks. The Siamese influence carries on to cocktails like the Lemongrass Mojito ($15) and Pink Panther ($15), a rose syrup, milk, calamansi and vodka mixture, adding variety to the usual suspects of bottled liquors and beer.
