The WWW Concepts group (behind establishments like Bartini, Bartini Kitchen and Hombre Cantina) rounds off its spate of openings in 2013 with a bar centered on journos and the PR industry. Set in a longish Ann Siang Hill shophouse, this grit and concrete-clad bar serves up a selection of standard liquor pours ($9-$200), as well as a small menu of fruit-addled cocktails like its elderflower-laced Collins ($18) and very potent Zombie ($23) of five rums, absinthe and tropical juices, all created by the group’s drink expert, Barnaby Murdoch. Grub is catered by the team at Bartini, with items like burgers ($16-$19), pizzas ($20), and notably, poutine ($8), on offer. Created as the local equivalent of a foreign correspondents club, Scoop favours journos and public relations practitioners on Wednesday nights, offering BOGO drinks from 5 to 8pm, and also offers up its location to the media to conduct interviews on site.
