Time Out says

A month-long pop-up festival, Super 0 Season (S0S) turns art complex Gillman Barracks into a music, art, design and multi-media party with local and international artists every Saturday this month. A homegrown initiative from the folks at Broadcast HQ, Aligned Agency and Cynthia Chua of Spa Esprit, the programme features a selection of workshops and exhibitions at the art galleries during the day, plus a neat range of underground music acts (many who have never played in Singapore before) at night.

UK’s Space Dimension Controller (he named himself after an old Technics equaliser) jumpstarted the first Saturday night (6 Apr) with his self-branded fusion of galactic funk, followed by Dave Huismans – otherwise known as 2562 or A Made Up Sound – renowned for his sets filled with up-tempo house, future garage, dubstep and techno.

DJ Dinky, the quirky Chilean known for her mashed-up sets that deliver house, deep minimal techno, experimental, old school, funk and soul beats, helmed the decks on the second night (13 Apr). Praised for her killer performances, she’s a multi-instrumentalist who also plays the guitar and piano and sings. Berlin-based DJ/producer Oliver Deutschmann stepped up to the plate next, firing deep house and big room techno tunes.

The third Saturday (20 Apr) features UK DJ Adesse playing an energetic set, and German DJ Frank Wiedemann – one half of the acclaimed duo Âme – who will be showcasing his exclusive works from the Innervisions label.

For the final night (27 Apr), Tom Craven and James Cotterill from UK’s Illusion Records will be blasting out house beats, while DJ Boris, resident of Berlin nightclub Berghain, rounds off the night with Dutch DJ Delta Funktionen, playing a mish-mash of disco, post-punk, neotrance and old-school acid techno. Also watch out for local DJs such as Brendon P, Zig Zach, Funk Bast*rd and Casie Lane hyping up the crowd each evening. With a lineup like this, nothing ought to come between you and the sound of the underground. Benita Lee
