Said to be Singapore’s oldest pub, The Yard opened its doors in 1983 and has aged rather gracefully. Everything about the place evokes nostalgia – from the old shophouse it occupies, with its stained white-brick walls and colour-tinted tile windows, to its bulky wooden door and old cloak cupboards. Otherwise hard-to-find draught beers London Pride or Tetley’s Bitter are there for supping while you soak in the bar’s authentic charm.
