Miss comedy nights at your favourite bar, pub and comedy club? Chase away those mundane nights in and relive those thigh-slapping moments as five local stand-up comedians come together via Zoom – from their respective homes, of course – for Singapore Stands Up on May 8. Hosted by Discover, the online comedy show features Sam See, Jinx Yeo, Jacky Ng, Prem John, and Siraj Aziz, who are known for their quick-wit, humorous banter, and arsenal of original material that will tickle your funny bone.
Sam See is no stranger to the international stage, making crowds roar with laughter in Melbourne, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Oman, as well as the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Comedy Central's The Jim Jefferies Show. Contrary to what his name might suggest, Fringe World Award-nominee Jinx Yeo isn’t here to jinx your night but fill it with his East-meets-West banter. One of Singapore's youngest pro funnymen, Jacky Ng is known for his unique way of delivering his wacky stories and observations, and you'll just have to see it for yourself. While relatively new to the stand-up scene, Prem John has quickly made his mark with his brand of observational, political, and relationship-based humour. And for more commentaries on life, Siraj has plenty in his bag too.
