Stirring Ground, started by street dance artists Gin Lam and Xue Hui, presents FREE-QuencY – an experimental dance festival offering an exciting lineup of events mish-mashing different types of dance styles, from street and contemporary to traditional. The festival aims to unite dancers, both local and international, by providing a platform for them to showcase their talents and nurture a supportive community. Non-dancers can also learn more about dance as an artform.
There will be three captivating programmes happening in collaboration with international dance makers: Free Our Body (Dance Intensives), Free Our Mind (Street Dance Theatre showcase) and Free Our Soul (Experimental Battle).
Moreover, local art practitioners such as Chowk Productions, P7:1SMA and the Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre will also be conducting dance workshops. We can also look forward to performances and workshops by dance makers hailing all the way from Europe. This includes dancers Justin De Jager, duo Alesya Dobysh and Simon Bus.
