Time Out says

It’s almost impossible to miss Objectifs – a standalone yellow house along Waterloo Street dedicated to the visual arts. The gallery presents a year-round programme of exhibitions, screenings, workshops, talks, and more, aiming to advance the practice and appreciation of film and photography. This establishment also spearheads Objectif Films in partnership with Infinite Frameworks and Shooting Gallery Asia. Together, they distribute the largest number of short films in Southeast Asia and represent award-winning short films from our region.

Tan Lip Seng: A Life in Colour

Get to see Singapore as you’ve never seen it before. Or maybe you have, but you just haven’t been paying close attention. Thankfully, Tan Lip Seng has documented it all for you at A Life in Colour. In this landmark solo exhibition, presented by the Objectifs Centre for Photography and Film, uncover the prolific photographer’s archive, which quietly captures a vibrant slice of Singaporean life. Expect everyday people, places and moments in rich, luscious colours, from our bustling wet markets to the shuffling construction workers on the streets. Arriving just in time for National Day, the exhibition also uses Tan’s photographs to tell the story of Singapore’s journey from its beginnings to the cosmopolitan society it is today. A Life in Colour launches alongside the publication of a new photobook that was developed in collaboration with the late artist’s sons. It includes unseen images captured by Tan during his final years, and highlights his unwavering dedication to evolving his practice, embracing everything from film photography to the use of smartphones.
