You've been around to your pal's place for Raya lunch, but here's another way to get really immersed in a Malay dining experience. Going back to their roots – which is coincidentally the meaning of ‘akar’ – celebrity chefs Sharizal 'Bob' Salleh, Siti Mastura and Iskander Latiff put together special menus for groups of 35 in the city's only halal show kitchen, dressed up with traditional place settings and tunes. A special teatime session (Jul 25 & 26, Aug 1 & 2) will also teach participants how to make green chendol jelly worms, weave ketupat and grill satay.
