An unpretentious spot along the Eunos-end of Changi Road, Pastilla’s grub tends towards Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavours. The mousakka ($13.50) packs lamb meatballs, cheese, capsicum, potatoes and tomatoes in a generously-sized claypot, and roast chicken ($9.90/half, $14.90/whole) gets its bold flavour from a saffron sauce enriched with over 20 spices and a nine month-aged butter. The Oum Ali ($6) – bread and butter pudding with cinnamon, nuts and dried fruits – is the dessert must-try for its rich texture.
