The mothership to Salon Vim, veteran hair salon Chez Vous’ updated Ngee Ann City parlour – they have been around since 1995 – packs a few new artistic touches and semi-private spaces for specialised hair attention.
The new space works almost as a fabulous time warp, taking customers away from the hustle they bustled their way in from. Plus, if you’re getting one of the satisfying hair washes in Chez Vous’ kerchief-draped washroom, you’re even allowed a nap in the darkened space. The main seating areas each come with their own built-in tablet-sized televisions and three Cocoon areas veiled by a translucent fabric. A private room can be booked if you want a quieter nook to get your hair worked on.
Cuts are a pricey $70, but you get what you pay for with Chez Vous’ ‘Only Hair Directors Allowed’ policy. For a lowdown of each pro stylists’ specialisations – some work exclusively on Caucasian hair – flip through the salon menu while you sip on the complimentary Dilmah tea. Très fancy.
