The W Singapore is a sexy hotel. Beats thump through the lobby, beautiful people parade around the pool and red Prada leather adorns the lift walls. A staycation here is like peeping into the lifestyles of Sentosa Cove’s rich and famous – so don’t forget your polo tee and bug-eyed sunnies.
Whatever you want, whenever you want it, the hotel is happy to provide. Even if it’s a tray of desserts served on a golden skateboard upon check-in. But the pool is where we spent most of our time: open 24/7, it pulses with life in the day and transforms into a private, sensuous and oh-so-inviting space at night.
Dining options are never in short supply. Head down to Skirt for steak grilled on an open parilla or challenge the limits of your stomach with the buffet at The Kitchen Table. A skip and hop away from the hotel is Quayside Isle, home to 15 restaurants with views of the marina and its luxury yachts.
There are ten room categories (from $740/night), but even the smallest clocks in at a spacious 40 square metres and comes with a bathtub. Sleep beneath a glowing floral wall motif and snuggle between 350-thread-count linen.
If you want to ball hard, book out the Extreme WOW Suite. There’s a jacuzzi tub, a private lap pool and even a turntable with stacks of records to DJ your own bash. At more than ten grand a night, though, reserve this for a super special occasion.
Wade over to the poolside bar, order your cocktail of choice and soak in the sun while local and international DJs – on the first Sunday of most months – bring the good vibes.
