Forget playgrounds – shopping with the kids takes a fun turn at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. The luxury mall is pulling out all the stops for its annual two-day Little Luxury Stars 2017, promising a weekend of festivities and entertainment for families with children aged 12 and below. Parents, you’ll want to mark your calendar for the weekend of April 22 and 23.

There’s no lack of options for the shopaholics at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, especially when it comes to the children’s department. The mall is home to a wide range of kids’ boutiques – including standalone boutiques exclusive to the region, such as Gucci Kids and Stella McCartney Kids – and new stores such as Kenzo Kids and Paul Smith Junior.

To make browsing even more exciting, the stores will be teeming with free activities during Little Luxury Stars 2017. Let the older kids get crafty at Stella McCartney Kids where they can make their own pair of binoculars. The younger ones can join nicholas & bears’ cupcake decoration workshop or, over at Dolce&Gabbana Junior, get their faces painted before posing for a photoshoot themed to Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection. And those looking to express themselves can head to Kids 21 to personalise their Kids 21 tote bag with iron-on patches, or get their hair braided by French fashion retailer Bonpoint.

The entertainment will not only be confined to the stores, either. Balloon sculptors, superheroes and other colourful mascots will rove around the mall, while snack stations will issue out – what else – sweet treats such as popcorn and cotton candy.

The icing on the cake? Rewards – and lots of it. With a minimum spend of $1,000 at participating children’s boutiques, you’ll get a ‘Family Daycation Package’. It includes a $50 TWG Tea voucher, a box of macarons, four tickets to Future World at ArtScience Museum, two tickets to sampan rides along the mall’s canal, and soft-serve ice creams and lanyards at DC Comics Super Heroes Café.

Little Luxury Stars 2017 is at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands on April 22 & 23.
