Time Out says

With a glowing glass façade inspired by stepwells that are commonly found in South Asia, the Indian Heritage Centre has a wealth of artefacts that are dotted around five galleries. They document and explore the history and culture of Indians, especially in relation to Singapore, all the way from the 1st century to the present day.

What’s on

Deepavali Open House 2024

With the Festival of Lights only a few weeks away, there’s no better way to get into the festive mood than to visit the Indian Heritage Centre’s annual Deepavali Open House from October 5 to 27. Enjoy a vibrant carnival-like atmosphere the moment you step in – indoor music performances, festive dress-up booths, free henna, and fun craft activities like block printing your own Deepavali cards. You can even get your fortune read by a parrot, an ancient Indian custom. Or hop on the Little India Express Bus Tour to get an awesome view of the spectacular Deepavali light-up lining the streets.   Besides free admission to the permanent galleries on levels three and four, shop at a special marketplace on select days. Join the fun walking trails to savour local favourites like thosai and prata. Foodies must also catch MasterChef Singapore winner, Inderpal Singh, at the Festive Indian Cooking Demo to learn how to make his delicious signature dishes. Find out more here.
