Time Out says

Here's a crash course on this iconic opera. Les Éléments was originally ordered by the King of France Louis XV and first performed at the Tuileries Royal Palace in 1721 with the King himself – aged 11 at the time – dancing with other young members of the royal Court. The piece had such a profound impact on the whole 18th century in France that it has been performed in Versailles, Fontainebleau, and adapted in chamber versions to be performed in smaller, provincial courts. Now, André Cardinal Destouches and Michel Richard Delalande from the French Baroque Ensemble “Les Surprises" will perform a chamber version re-written by Louis-Noel Bestion de Camboulas in four acts – Air, Water, Fire, and Earth – at the School of the Arts Concert Hall.
