Time Out says

What do you get when you pair up five established producers with five emerging artists? An exciting five-part video series: Majulah Weekender. In lieu of a concert for MajulahFest, the firey collaboration of Zendyll and National Youth Council follows fresh and seasoned artists from the local music scene to showcase the songwriting, production and performance journey of each pair, while connecting with music lovers from Singapore and beyond.

Kickstarting from July 30, the fortnightly online video series invites all to witness sonic worlds collide as five pairs of musicians put their brains – and vocals – together for the very first time to create original songs around their experiences, thoughts and feelings during the circuit breaker. The catch? These unlikely pairs of musicians from completely different genres are given a weekend each to do so from scratch.

Expect to see the creative processes of pop producer J.Son and hip-hop artiste Bgourd, and the electric fusion of introspective producer Fauxe and bedroom pop wunderkind Shye. Look forward to the innovative sounds of Jon Chua JX and Hairi Eyes, Riidem and Elsa Mickayla, and DSML and Jean Seizure.

All five episodes are set to air on MajulahFest's social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and YouTube channel, with a new episode dropping every fortnight. Each episode is also supported by the digital release of the track on the same day via all streaming platforms. Plus, all five tracks are set to be released in an EP, due for release on September 25.
