Time Out says

With a good cause, come great sets – Music For A Cause (MFAC) returns for its fifth and final edition on May 28 and 29 on Facebook Live. But this time, it goes live online. Organised by Love Action Project and powered by National Youth Council Singapore, Singapore's first and only altruistic music festival is known for bringing homegrown musicians together while highlighting social causes and supporting local non-for-profit organisations. Show some love by tuning into the virtual shindig which takes place over two sessions each day: 4pm to 6.15pm and 7pm to 9.15pm.

Teaming up with SGMUSO and Hawkers United, MFAC aims to support local musicians, hawkers, and frontline workers who are affected by the current global situation with #FundAGig, #FundAHawker, and #HawkersXFrontliners. #FundAGig encourages musicians to stream their gigs live, in which they will be remunerated with a stipend of $100 to 300 per livestream. #FundAHawker supports five local hawkers – Chon Sing Huat Cooked Food, Grandma Mee Siam, Soon Hock Hokkien Mee, Balqis Favourite Nasi Padang, and R.R Indian Food Stall – through the purchase of their food and drinks for distribution to our frontline workers. Through this, #HawkersXFrontliners distributes the purchased items to frontline workers including healthcare workers, delivery personnel, F&B service providers and social distancing ambassadors, to thank them for all their hard work during these difficult times.

But of course, what's MFAC without the music? The sonically pleasing bill sees the all-killer, no-filler return of 12 MFAC alumni including the dynamic duo Jack and Rai, no-instruments-attached MICapella, pop-rockers 53A, bedroom pop darling Shye, and singer-songwriter Charlie Lim. On top of enjoying their intimate performances, the home audience can say hello and interact with their favourite music acts through the virtual meet-and-greet.

Set your alarms and enjoy some sweet, sweet music for a good cause. Tune into MFAC Facebook Live for the live performances, and check out mfac.sg for more information.
