The biggest names in music are joining forces with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Global Citizen to fill your home with glorious, glorious music while raising awareness about the current situation. But instead of a mega concert à la Live Aid, expect an online special featuring intimate performances by Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Andrea Bocelli, J Balvin, Kacey Musgraves, Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, and many more. It's set to be globally televised and streamed via social media platforms on April 18 at 8am.
Hosted by Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert, the star-studded charity concert is shedding light upon the widespread condition and how it's affecting millions across the globe while applauding the heroic efforts of frontline health workers worldwide. It also encourages viewers to stay safe at home in a bid to flatten the curve. That’s right: all you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy the show at the comfort and safety of your living room.
The special two-hour show will be televised live at 8am (SGT) on Channel 5 with a simulcast on meWATCH, meWATCH YouTube channel. It will also be available via social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube. There's also a five-hour digital special at 3am (SGT) featuring more artists, as well as interviews and unique stories from healthcare heroes around the world, available to watch via meWatch, meWatch YouTube channel and meListen.
One Championship will also be broadcasting the concert through its various platforms including its Super App, Facebook, and YouTube channels. But that's not all – the Singapore-based sports giant is donating 10 percent of its proceeds from its online merch store to WHO's Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund. Plus, One's MMA stars including Angela Lee, Brandon Vera, Stamp Fairtex, Demetrious Johnson, and many others will be taking the virtual space to share their home workout tips with fans, as well as answering all their pressing questions in an effort to encourage everyone to stay at home.
