Time Out says

*SCAPE is the name, and championing local music is its game. With its five-story lifestyle hub in Orchard affectionately called a second home for many of the city's young musicians, the non-profit organisation is all for supporting youths in reaching their full potential. And that includes recognising their efforts and achievements with the *SCAPE Youth Music Awards, which first rolled out in 2019.

This year, the third edition of the awards show takes place on March 31 via Twitter, Facebook and Youtube from 6.30pm. Supported by Bandwagon, it celebrates a new generation of artists under the age of 35 who have strived to make music despite the challenges of the pandemic.

Hosted by actress Munah Bagharib and composer Tan Yan Wei, *SCAPE Youth Music Awards is streamed live from the *SCAPE Ground Theatre, and elevated on the small screens using special 3D visuals. It kicks off with pre-show serenades by singer-songwriters Bernice.wav and Daniel Sid, followed by main-show performances by emerging R&B darling Keyana, songbird Hashy, indie-rock quintet Subsonic Eye, and popstar Rriley. Emo/math-rock band Forests, and rapper Akeem Jahat are set to close the show with a bang.

Unlike your usual awards show, the winners' fate lies in the hands of fans – well, sort of. From March 9 to 22, fans were invited to cast their vote on *SCAPE Youth Music Award's website and Twitter. The winners are then decided based on public votes (40%) and judges' votes (60%).

The revamped genre-based format features a total of 16 award categories, including the People's Choice Award, which will be awarded to the artist with the most number of votes across all categories. This format is taken on to ensure better representation for all. For more information, visit scape.sg
