Time Out says

All around the world – Singapore included – people are encouraged to stay home. But this doesn't mean that we should be cut off from all human interaction. Now you can be part of a virtual charity event that would require you to use your voice for good. SingForSG invites everyone living in Singapore and Singaporeans based overseas to participate in this virtual singing competition created and produced by local events agency The Events Artery.

The virtual charity competition will be streamed online on Facebook over six episodes from May 16 to 27. On the judging panel, expect to see familiar names from the music and entertainment industry like Aisyah Aziz, Tosh Zhang, Don Richmond, Dee Kosh, Fakkah Fuzz and more. To be part of this programme, send in or post up (via the Facebook page) a video entry of you singing and performing a song of your choice. Entries can be solo, a duet or get the whole family to join – but only if they are living together with you. Submit all your entries by May 10 for judging. The top 20 entries will be selected to perform on the live stream show and participants stand a chance to win $2,000 in prizes.

The Food Bank Singapore (FBSG) is the beneficiary of SingForSG and the organisers hope to raise $50,000 so the team at FBSG can go on to continue the good work they do during this period. Currently, FBSG provides meals to essential workers, underprivileged families, elderly, and migrant workers who are affected by Covid-19 and are dependent on the donations received by the public. Unfortunately, during this time, the number in donations and volunteers have drastically dropped.

So if you have a good voice, it's time to use it to spread the positivity in these times. Get busy recording all you budding musical stars. While you're at it, give generously to the cause – the donation drive is open from now to May 31.
