Tune into some of Singapore's best music acts with Snakeweed Sessions, a brand new video series brought to you by Snakeweed Studios. If you don't know, this is the place where the likes of Electrico, Ronin and Pug Jelly have recorded their hits – and with this latest project, the studio hopes to celebrate a new generation of Singapore-made music and promote it to a wider audience.
Premiering on March 11, Snakeweed Sessions gathers local musicians to perform original tracks – some yet to be released. The first season features intimate sessions with singer-songwriters Charlie Lim, Gentle Bones, Linying, dream pop trio Sobs, and grindcore band Wormrot.
Gentle Bones kicks off the series with a medley of singles from his first EP, including 'Until We Die', 'Elusive' and 'Settle Down'. In subsequent weeks, Linying will take the mic with 'Good Behaviour' off her latest album There Could Be Wreckage Here; Charlie Lim will be teaming up with the principal cellist of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra Ng Pei-Sian to perform 'Utopia Reimagined: Into Dreams'; Sobs will be offering a first look at their unreleased single 'Bum Book'; and to round things off, Wormrot will be recording two songs, 'When Talking Fails, It's Time for Violence' and the unreleased track 'Behind Closed Doors'.
Leonard Soosay, founder of Snakeweed Studio shares, "Carrying on with the tradition of building music communities, Snakeweed Sessions aims to provide artists with a space where they can truly be authentic and perform their songs stripped down, capturing the raw spirit and honesty in their music."
Don't miss out on Snakeweed Sessions, available from March 11 on Snakeweed Studios’ Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
