Time Out says
Following the success of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra's (SSO) live-streamed concert, The Spirit of Serenity, on March 28, the ensemble unveils a wide-ranging three-month digital season starting from April 4. Under the banner SSOPlayOn!, the digital season aims to lift spirits and unite the community through classical music – direct from the Victoria Concert Hall and the SSO’s Rose Studio recording facility to the comfort of your sweet digs.
Enjoy 'em sweet sounds backed by an orchestra of strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion through videos and audio concerts across SSO's online platforms including its YouTube, Facebook and Spotify channels. These include newly recorded concerts, showcases of works by local composers, and never-before-released recordings of musical gems specially picked from its rich archive.
Three to four concerts are released on specific days each week. Look forward to the SSO Live & Digital Premieres on Saturdays or Sundays, the SSO Encore: From the Archives on Saturdays, and Singapore Composers: From the Archives on Wednesdays which alternates with the Victoria Concert Hall: From the Archives, a specially curated audio-only series.
Tune into YouTube on April 4 at 7.30pm for the Digital Premiere of Mahler's Second Symphony, conducted by Lan Shui. The performance was held in January 2019 and it marks Lan Shui's final concert as the orchestra's Chief Conductor. Follow all the latest online events on SSOPlayOn!, YouTube, Facebook and Spotify channels, as well as Symphony 924.
