Time Out says

Music venues in Singapore have been temporarily closed since the circuit breaker in April, resulting in music lovers to get their fix online. But now that the country has eased into Phase 2 – and closing in on Phase 3 – these doors are slowly re-opening to welcome punters to delight in live performances once again. And if you're a fan of classical music, you're in for a much-needed treat.

The Victoria Concert Hall, home of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO), is ready to welcome back classical music lovers on October 8, starting with a live performance of Haydn’s Emperor String Quartet and Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence. It comes as part of SSO's chamber music series VCHpresents and a pilot scheme by the National Arts Council. This also marks the SSO's first live concert since its safe-distanced concerts in March – one at Victoria Concert Hall, and the other at Gardens by the Bay which was dedicated to the city's front-line workers.

Set to be performed in front of an audience of 50, the small-scale concert is open to the public, with safety measures put in place. It is one of the first concerts to require the TraceTogether app or TraceTogether tokens for all audience members. Tokens will be distributed on-site for those who have yet to collect theirs. Other safety measures include temperature screening, three-metre spacing between performers and audience, one-metre spacing between audience members, and no intermission.

Can't wait to be swept away by the sweet sounds of live classical music? Secure your seats online with tickets available from $30. For more information, visit sso.org.sg.
