If you’ve ever punched a tree for wood or panicked at the sound of a zombie groan, this one’s for you: Minecraft is coming to real life this April, and Singapore is its first stop in Asia. From April 24 to September 13 2026, Green Canvas at Mandai Wildlife Reserve will morph into a blocky battleground for Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue – a one-hour, story-driven quest that turns casual players and die-hard fans into full-fledged heroes.

For Mandai, this marks the first large-scale travelling immersive exhibition at the new Green Canvas space. The brain behind this real-life upgrade is Montreal creative studio Supply + Demand, working alongside Microsoft, Experience MOD and Mojang Studios.

Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue drops visitors straight into the Overworld, where eight themed rooms recreate familiar biomes in supersized, technicolour fashion. Think towering forests, recognisable mobs and a village in serious trouble. Your mission? Team up, gather resources and save the day before the undead overrun the place.

The whole experience runs on a slick blend of large-scale projections, theatrical set design and motion-tracking tech. Every player gets handed an “Orb of Interaction” – essentially your magic key to tinkering with the environment and nudging the storyline along.

Once you’ve rescued the villagers and defended your honour, there’s a Trading Post waiting at the end for celebratory retail therapy, where players can unlock an exclusive in-game cape.

The presale waitlist is open now, with early access kicking off on March 10 2026. General sales follow on March 11. Tickets start at $46 for adults and $40 for kids on weekdays, with slightly higher weekend prices, and can be purchased here. WildPass and Friends of Mandai members score 15 per cent off early bird rates until March 23. Also, it’s worth noting that time slots are staggered in 15-minute intervals, so book your preferred entry time in advance.
