Calling all witches and wizards – grab your wand as a new magical event is landing on our sunny shores. Whether via a flying broomstick or car, or an unknown portkey, we've got word that Australia's unique wizard-themed pop-up bar experience is coming to Singapore, kickstarting the new year in Singapore with a bang in January 2021. The popular Wizard's Den has had a sizzling run, selling out events across Australia, Canada, and America. After all, it's one of the few places in the Muggle World (ie. earth) where you can channel the powers of your favourite coven icon, from Harry Potter to Sabrina, and create 'riddikulus' concoctions.
More than the standard joint for a quick pint of Butterbeer à la The Leaky Cauldron, The Wizard's Den features boozy cocktail classes. Instead of choosing your poison a per a regular bar, you'll be mixing and making your very own potion. But not without a twist. Participants have to take part in challenges – think tricky riddles and mind-boggling puzzles – to unlock the ingredients for their concoctions. With the help of a trusty potion master, things get boozier with a swish and a flick from there.
In true hush-hush wizard fashion, the experience takes place at a secret location in Clarke Quay and runs for a limited time only. Each experience lasts for 90 minutes, and includes one welcome drink and two potions. You'll also be kitted out in a robe and wand, in which you'll have to return before stepping out of the magical lair – you wouldn't want to blow your cover as a witch or wizard, do you?
While tickets have yet to be released, you can register your interest online and be the first to know when the golden tickets are up for grabs. There's nothing like starting the new year with a little magic.
