Cafés in Jalan Besar are banding together to compile your delivery order

Do you miss café hopping? While you can’t actually physically café hop during this period, a new initiative is bringing the experience online. Shop through your favourite dining establishments in Jalan Besar and ship it all out under one consolidated order.

The initiative named Foodhood is an online platform that brings together dining establishments within the vicinity – Black Fairy Coffee, Chye Seng Huat Hardware, Gudsht Cocktails, Oberstrasse, The Tiramisu Hero, and The Refinery – and aggregates them into one convenient platform for you to browse their list of goodies. 

Start the day with an aromatic cuppa from Chye Seng Huat Hardware, then dig into a bowl of mod-donburi from The Refinery for lunch with desserts from The Tiramisu Hero – all in one sitting. Choose what you’re in the mood for and have it delivered straight to your door with a one-time delivery fee starting from $8. 

"Social distancing doesn't mean we can't come together in other ways," says Colin Chen, The Refinery's creative director, on the Foodhood website. 

All you need is a minimum order of $40, with delivery fees starting from an affordable $8. Look forward to having a cold brew ($7.50), gyudon ($14), tiramisu ($7.50), bento boxes ($15), and more. Do note that orders need to be placed at least two hours in advance to allow ample time for various cafés to consolidate your order. 

And while you can only support establishments in the Jalan Besar area for now, there are plans to introduce this initiative to other neighbourhoods in Singapore. For now, you can show Jalan Besar some love via the website foodhood.sg.
