Changi Airport is going big for this year’s Chinese New Year rush – six airlines will be operating more than 600 additional flights between Singapore and 15 Chinese cities from February 1 to March 8, 2026. That’s more than double the additional flights offered during the same period in 2025.

And that’s right up our alley, considering China is one of Singapore’s biggest travel markets, with 37 direct city links and visa-free travel.

The extra flights cover the full spectrum – from big cities like Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chongqing to smaller cities such as Changsha, Ningbo, and Wenzhou. And for the first time ever, Nanchang, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Wuhan, and Zhengzhou are getting supplementary flights as well.

The flight surge is provided by Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, Loong Air, Spring Airlines and Xiamen Airlines, covering everything from full-service comfort to budget-friendly options. Air China, China Eastern and Xiamen Airlines are leading the charge, each adding more than 140 extra flights.

All in all, Changi will be linked to 15 cities across China: Changsha, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Hefei, Nanchang, Nanjing, Ningbo, Shanghai, Wenzhou, Wuhan, Xi’an, Xiamen and Zhengzhou.

To support the late-night surge, Changi Airport and Jewel Changi Airport will also roll out enhanced services during the festive period, including extended early check-in at Terminals 1 and 3, 24-hour operations at the Changi Lounge with buffet service, and longer operating hours for the Jewel Rain Vortex until midnight daily.
