This Chatterbox signature comes with tender boiled chicken, jasmine rice, and soup, as well as a trio of homemade chilli, ginger, and dark soya sauce. Those feeling hungry can opt for the Chatterbox Signature Bento ($18) that comes with a hearty selection including the Mandarin Chicken Rice, abalone kolo mee, crispy tofu with minced chicken and rojak.
Over at Shisen Hanten, the iconic mapo tofu ($15) is the star of Chen’s Mapo Doufu Donburi, served atop Hokkaido rice and a side of Sichuan pickle. There’s also a bento box ($18) where the iconic tofu in Sichuan peppercorn meat sauce comes packed with sides of siew mai and sautéed seasonal vegetables with mushrooms and truffle. For an affordable indulgence, tuck into its six-course set menu. At $45, you’ll get three signature appetisers, sautéed broccoli with mushrooms and truffle, Chen’s Mapo Doufu with rice, oven-baked egg tarts, and the choice of two mains from a list that includes wok-fried chicken with cashew and red pepper and stewed fish fillet with pickled vegetables.
