When it comes to indulgent meals, fried chicken and waffles rank pretty high up on our lists. The only problem is a serving of the dish can be pretty pricey in Singapore. Though we'd gladly spend over $20 for fried chicken and waffles as a treat, it'll be nice to save some money as well. Enter our favourite fried chicken fast-food chain KFC with its announcement to launch fried chicken and waffles starting September 4.

Having just rolled out its boneless original recipe chicken "steak" – which is basically a chicken cutlet – the chain followed up with the chicken and waffles. The dish appears to be the similar chicken steak on top of a Belgian waffle. The US outlets introduced a version of chicken and waffles last year drizzled with maple syrup, but the version in Singapore seems to be topped with a cheesy and creamy sauce.

KFC has been on a roll this year with its menu. So far this year we've seen the likes of Mala fried chicken, truffle cheese fried chicken, cereal fried chicken and more. Let's hope the chicken and waffles will be hit. But really, it doesn't matter – we'll try it anyway.

The KFC Chicken & Waffles is available at all outlets starting September 4.
