It's all looking grand for Singapore's bar scene – the extended 51-100 list of the World's 50 Best Bars was released and Singapore has comfortably topped Asia with an impressive lead of five out of 16 bars on the list.
The five bars include No Sleep Club (53), The Old Man (58), Tippling Club (64), 28 HongKong Street (86) and Gibson (92). Some of the other bars from Asia that made it on the list are AHA Saloon from Taipei (56), Speak Low from Shanghai (57), The Pontiac from Hong Kong (61) and Vesper in Bangkok (62).
This is a huge feat considering the challenges the nightlife sector had to face this year. From having to adapt amid closures during the 'circuit breaker' to rethinking how to do business as (un)usual, this is also a celebration of the resilience of the scene.
