Choose between two immersive stories unfolding at the same time in this production inspired by the award-winning film

If you walked out of a Sinners screening wishing you could spend just a little longer inside Ryan Coogler's haunting, blues-soaked world, here's your chance. Held at Little Island Brewing Co, Gillman Barracks on September 5 and 6, Sinners: Live invites you to step straight into 1932 Mississippi for what might be Singapore's boldest immersive theatre experience yet.
Forget everything you know about traditional theatre. There's no stage, no curtain call and definitely no one asking you to switch your phone off – because it'll already be sealed away before you enter. Instead, you'll wander through a living, breathing world where every performer stays in character from the moment you arrive. Music doesn't just accompany the story – it is the story.
Set across two simultaneous productions, you'll have to decide which side of the night you want to experience. The Juke Joint transports you inside Smoke and Stack Moore's bustling lumber mill as opening-night celebrations unfold to the sounds of Delta blues before events spiral into something far darker.
Prefer the other side of the story? Remmick's Story unfolds outdoors, following the mysterious Remmick and his followers through an eerie evening of Irish folk songs, seduction and an unsettling march towards the juke joint. Both performances happen at the same time, meaning no two audiences will witness the same night.
Running for two hours, the production weaves together Delta blues, West African rhythms and Irish folk traditions, culminating in a powerful finale that reunites both audiences through gospel and spiritual music. If you enjoy immersive productions where you're more participant than spectator, this one's likely to hit all the right notes.
Period dress is strongly encouraged. Think crisp shirts, vintage dresses, worn leather shoes and your finest Sunday best. Between scenes, you can also tuck into Southern-inspired food and drinks served especially at the event.
As the event will be held at a bar, it’s strictly for those aged 18 and above. While there are no jump scares, the show does feature blood, vampires and supernatural themes that may not suit the faint-hearted.
Tickets start from $38 for students and those on restricted incomes, while general admission begins at $68, with VIP table experiences also available. Whether you're a devoted Sinners fan, an immersive theatre enthusiast or simply after a memorable night out, this is one experience you'll want to sink your teeth into. Find out more here.
