What if we told you that you could experience the planet’s most extreme environments – without ever leaving Singapore? All it’ll take is a short trip to Mandai. Opening on March 3, 2026, at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve is Exploria. This new indoor experience brings the behind-the-scenes workings of nature into view – from coming face to face with towering prehistoric giants to freezing in icy landscapes alongside polar bears, and stepping into life in darkness rarely seen up close.

Sprawled across 10,000 square metres, Exploria will be among Southeast Asia’s largest indoor attractions dedicated to nature, but this isn’t your standard walk-through exhibit. One minute you’re in the age of dinosaurs, the next you’re braving extreme habitats, peering into microscopic ecosystems or hovering in the inky depths of the ocean.

At the centre of Exploria sits Our Interconnected World, and it’s where the whole idea starts to make sense. Look out for a four-metre LED globe hanging above, quietly pulsing as the space reacts to what’s happening around it. As you interact with the exhibits, flashes of light ripple back to the globe, showing how everything connects.

From there, visitors branch out into five immersive worlds, each with its own environment. You’ll also be equipped with a recyclable RFID wristband where you can create a digital avatar, activate installations, uncover hidden content and collect species badges along the way.

In Realm of the Giants, everything goes big immediately. You’re surrounded by outsized creatures from a time when earth was ruled by them. AR windows drop dinosaurs and massive sea beasts straight into ancient landscapes, making it feel uncomfortably real.

The standout here is The Giants Show – an eight-minute, wraparound experience that hurtles through 500 million years of life.

Micro Worlds lets visitors zoom in on a wonder library of hidden microscopic life

Then everything shrinks in Micro Worlds, where the focus shifts to the stuff you usually walk right past. Glass orbs and projection domes blow up microscopic ecosystems – plankton, fungi, insects, bacteria – into something you can actually see and interact with.

Next, Bitdeer AI Extreme Frontiers is where things get physically uncomfortable. Virtual expeditions and simulator rooms drop you into some of Earth’s harshest environments. You’ll follow polar bears navigating an icy world and watch Namaqua chameleons cope with extreme heat. One room even cranks the temperature up to 40°C, just to drive the point home.

Moving on, Infinite Wonderland is a sensory deep dive into rainforests and coral reefs at their most dense and chaotic. Layers of sound, light and movement bring these ecosystems to life, with wildlife emerging from thick foliage and colourful reefscapes.

The experience culminates in World of Darkness, which leans heavily into the eerie. Set in caves and the deep ocean, this zone explores life without light, spotlighting creatures like glowing squids, eyeless crabs, blind cave fish that have adapted in strange and fascinating ways.

Exploria opens on March 3, 2026, from 11am to 8pm on weekdays, and until 9pm on weekends and public holidays. Tickets start at $38 for adults and $28 for children and students; local residents with a free WildPass membership enjoy discounted rates of $34.20 for adults, $25.20 for children and students, and $20 for seniors.
