The Marina Bay Singapore Countdown on December 31 is looking to be a massive New Year's Eve celebration. In the Marina Bay area alone, you can have a snowy escape at Ice Magic: Winter Wonderland, experience the thrill of racing at go-kart circuit TurboCharged, and see your favourite Mediacorp stars at the Let's Celebrate 2024 countdown concert. And what everyone is raring to see – the spectacular New Year's Eve fireworks that'll go off at hourly intervals, culminating in a 12-minute display to countdown to 2024.

If you're planning to head out to celebrate the turn of the new year, then it's best to be aware of the road closures around Marina Bay. Selected bus and train services will also have extended operational hours. Read on to start planning your perfect New Year's Eve.

Simply put, yes. Trains and bus services run by both SBS Transit and SMRT will be extended to accommodate the New Year's Eve celebrations.

Train services on the North East and Downtown Lines as well as on the Sengkang-Punggol Light Rail Transit systems will be extended by about two and a half hours on December 31.  24 selected bus services will also run later at their respective bus interchanges and bus stops – find out more here

SMRT has also released exact timings for last trains and buses. Refer to the detailed information here

What else do I need to know?

We're not sure who's crazy (or brave) enough to try cycling around Marina Bay on New Year's Eve, but do note that cycling will not be allowed in the area on December 31st. Do take public transport – many MRT stations like Downtown, Bayfront, and Raffles Place are within walking distance.
