The closure is a personal decision, with the founders choosing to end things on their own terms

After 16 years of loud, brave, occasionally gut-punching theatre, Singaporean theatre company Pangdemonium is taking its final bow – on its own terms. The homegrown theatre company, led by Adrian and Tracie Pang, has announced that 2026 will be its last season, bringing a 16-year chapter to a close.
Since opening shop in 2010, Pangdemonium carved out a clear lane for itself: polished productions, emotionally charged storytelling, and a knack for bringing heavyweight West End and Broadway titles to local stages without sanding off their edges. Over the years, it became a familiar name to theatre-goers, whether through boundary-pushing musicals, intimate dramas, or works that didn’t shy away from uncomfortable themes. That included acclaimed runs of shows such as Next To Normal (2014) and Fun Home (2015). They also weathered the rough years – pandemic shutdowns, rising costs, shrinking attention spans – but kept going anyway.
For the Pangs, the choice to close is personal, not circumstantial. They’ve made it clear they’re ending things while they still care deeply about the work, rather than dragging it out past its prime. They told The Straits Times, “...as with the best stories, we just want to call an end to the Pangdemonium story on our own terms, on a grace note, and while we are still in love.”
The final season kicks off in March 2026 and reads like a love letter to the audiences that stuck around. On the slate: a fresh local reworking of Three Sisters, a sharp British play about censorship dressed up as a wedding drama, and the crowd-favourite Come From Away, a musical that’s equal parts heart and hope.
So here’s your last chance to show up, show support, and be part of Pangdemonium’s final arc by checking out their lineup and programmes on their webpage here.
