Singapore Airlines' (SIA) premium economy class just got classier. From March 31 onwards, premium economy class passengers will enjoy a wider selection of dining options and a brand new amenity kit. This is only the first revamp of the cabin class since its introduction in 2015, so if you've been thinking of an upgrade then you're in luck.

Here are the little luxuries you can look forward to on the upgraded premium economy class flights.

More dining options, now served in porcelain ware

As a premium economy passenger, you’ll get to choose between two main course options for the flight (Asian or international). Each comes with a seasonal appetiser, bread, dessert, and cheese and crackers.

With the revamp, there are 200 new dishes in SIA’s premium economy class’s selection of in-flight meals. For appetisers, you can look forward to new additions like garlic roasted prawns with smoke aioli and seasonal variations of Japanese cold noodles with soba sauce. Notable new main courses include beef Bourguignon, Thai-style crab curry, and for a taste of Singapore, bak chor mee. The Book the Cook menu, which is available for pre-order 24 hours before the flight, has also been expanded to have 20 dishes on rotation. SIA has added new dishes like slow-braised lamb ragout alongside plant-based options like mushroom eggplant meatballs.

For dessert, dig into sweet treats like the chocolate feuilletine cake or apple crumble cheesecake. Every passenger will receive a small bar of chocolate and upgraded cheese and crackers. There are even upgraded bread options – think croissants for breakfast and garlic bread rolls for lunch, dinner, and supper.

There are more premium touches. SIA will now serve all premium economy meals in custom-made porcelain bowls arranged on linen-lined trays. You will also receive a glass of Charles de Cazanove Brut Tradition NV champagne shortly after take-off. Two other wines (the 2023 Wairau River Sauvignon Blanc and the 2022 St Hallet Faith Shiraz) and an extensive selection of whisky, gin, vodka, beers, and signature cocktails will also be available. If you don't take alcoholic drinks, consider the new peppermint and chamomile teas or a Cadbury hot chocolate drink instead.

An exclusive, eco-friendly amenity kit

Premium economy customers travelling on flights lasting seven hours and more will receive a new amenity kit. Designed to be eco-friendly and sustainable, the amenity pouch is made from eco-friendly Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified kraft paper fabric. Eyeshades and slippers are made from recycled PET material and the lip balm is packaged in biodegradable material. If you need toiletries, like dental kits and moisturisers, you can find them in the washrooms as usual.
