Tennis is taking over The Kallang this September, and you don’t necessarily need a ticket to join in. The Singapore Tennis Open returns from now till September 27, 2026, as Southeast Asia’s only Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) 500 tournament, bringing some seriously big names to Singapore alongside free screenings, player meet-and-greets, food, drinks and plenty of tennis-themed activities. Here’s everything you need to know.
What is the Singapore Tennis Open?
The Singapore Tennis Open is Singapore’s premier women’s professional tennis tournament, and this year it’s stepping up as a WTA 500 event, a higher-level tournament on the women’s professional tennis tour, with 500 ranking points awarded to the singles champion. It’s the only one of its kind in Southeast Asia.
It’ll see international stars and rising talents go head-to-head at The Kallang, with the main tournament running from September 19 to 27, 2026.
But there’s more happening than just tennis. The entire precinct is getting in on the action, with free tennis experiences, screenings, games and activities happening alongside the tournament.
Who are the top players competing this year?
The 2026 line-up is packed with star power. The world’s fifth-ranked player Mirra Andreeva leads the field, joined by Amanda Anisimova and Leylah Fernandez – currently ranked 31st in the world – who has accepted a wildcard into the singles main draw.
Regional fans also have reason to pay attention, with Alexandra Eala and Janice Tjen among the players competing. And if you want to see Singapore’s next generation of talent, Team Singapore’s Eva Marie Desvignes will compete in the qualifying draw after receiving a qualifying wildcard.
Where and when is the Singapore Tennis Open?
The main tournament is happening right now at The Kallang till September 27, 2026, with matches across the precinct.
Beyond the courts, there are still plenty of tennis-related activities happening around the precinct, including Arena Park, Kallang Wave Mall and Kallang Tennis Hub.
Can I attend for free?
Yes. You don’t need to fork out for a tournament ticket to get involved.
The qualifying rounds on September 19 and 20 were free to attend at OCBC Arena, with entry available on a first-come, first-served basis. For now, you can catch live match screenings at Break Point Garden at Arena Park.
Can I actually meet the players?
Yes, and this is probably your best chance to get closer to the stars without having to yell from the stands.
Daily player meet-and-greet sessions will take place from now to September 25, 2026, at the Feel Alive Zone in Arena Park. Timings will be announced closer to the event, so keep an eye out for the latest updates before heading down.
What else is there to eat, drink and do?
Quite a bit, actually. Head to Break Point Garden at Arena Park for selected free live match screenings, DJs sets, food and drinks, while daily player meet-and-greets continue at the Feel Alive Zone from now to September 25, 2026.
Nosh Singapore food trucks will serve crowd-pleasers, including the Messy Patty burger and fish and chips. There’s also the Kallang Roar, a cocktail created exclusively for The Kallang with vodka, passionfruit, and coconut.
If you’re up for some competition, try the Erdinger Stein Slide or take on the Reaction Challenge at the Singapore Tennis Open Activation Truck for a chance to win merchandise and food-and-beverage vouchers.
Over at Kallang Wave Mall, the Giant Tennis Experience runs until September 27, 2026, with oversized rackets, inflatable tennis balls and a custom-built court. The Singapore Tennis Invitational Cup is also taking place at Kallang Tennis Hub from now until September 26, 2026, featuring local and regional players.
