In our busy lives, the greatest challenge of all is finding enough time for everything. If you're someone who wishes for more hours in a day, make a beeline to new fitness studio, SUMHIIT Fitness. Here, they've got a novel high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout that promises to burn 50 minutes’ worth of calories – in just a matter of 35 minutes. It almost sounds too good to be true but this workout concept has scientific backing, receiving the stamp of approval from researchers at the University of California Los Angeles.

Decked out with swanky air bikes and experiential lighting, they’ve recently opened their first-ever outlet in Tai Seng. The next studio opening is set to be in the heart of Singapore, Orchard Road at Orchardgateway in April.  Here’s a look at what you can expect once you head down.

This workout might be intense, but it's worth every second of sweat. Expect to rotate between a minute of vigorous air biking and a minute of floor exercises involving weights, kettlebells, TRX suspension training, and medicine balls. It cleverly combines both heart-pumping cardio and strength-building exercises, with a 60/10 interval so you’ll push yourself to the limits for 60 seconds before taking 10 seconds for transition. There's no downtime whatsoever so you'll need to step up to the challenge.

If you’re looking to branch out from the standard HIIT workout, certain classes do also offer other interval training such as 90/15 for a focus on heavy lifting or 40/20 for a focus on higher impact. Following the 35-minute workout, expect a 10-minute optional post-workout core recovery session, but it's not like any cool down you've encountered – they keep you on your toes here, with stretching and ab-tightening exercises.

While it's 35 minutes packed with intervals, sprints, air bikes, and screens, it's reassuring to know that their high-energy coaches will be there to spur you on. No longer will you be short on time with these HIIT workouts for the ‘fierce-hearted’, an ideal fitness solution for those looking for maximum intensity and efficiency.

SUMHIIT Fitness also has their very own app, so you can keep track of your workouts, calorie burn results, and health data. You can also conveniently schedule classes with it.

Those excited to try this new workout concept can sign up for a free class here. If you want to jump straight in, they are currently offering unlimited memberships starting from $139. Unlike most gyms, there are no cancellation fees or contract commitments either – just give a 14-day notice. Bring hair ties and towels because you're sure to be dripping in sweat.
