Can you believe it’s been over a decade since ‘Sweater Weather’ first wrapped us in its moody, monochrome embrace? And now The Neighbourhood is finally heading to our sunny shores. The California alt-rock outfit fronted by Jesse Rutherford is set to perform live in Singapore for the very first time next year as part of The Wourld Tour. This also marks a new chapter for the band as they reunite after their 2021 hiatus.
If you’ve ever cried, crushed, or contemplated your life to one of The Neighbourhood’s dreamy, downtempo LA pop noir anthems, you’ll want to mark this date down in your diary pronto. From their 2013 breakout I Love You. to the slick self-titled 2018 album The Neighbourhood, and the glittering Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones which was released before the hiatus, the band has consistently blurred the lines between alt-rock, R&B, and indie pop.
They’ve also mastered the art of internet revival. ‘Sweater Weather’ went viral on TikTok a whole decade after its release, making a new generation fall for that brooding, beachy sound all over again. And with their upcoming album (((((ultraSOUND))))) dropping this November, expect a live show that’s not only nostalgic but also bursting with new energy.
