The revamped museum officially reopens with themed zones, immersive galleries and lots of family-friendly fun

Singapore's museum scene just got a super fly new addition on its radar. The refreshed Singapore Air Force Museum (SAFM) invites you to step into the story of Singapore's air force through themed zones and galleries, featuring interactive displays, immersive environments and experiential storytelling designed for a new generation of museum-goers.
One of the biggest highlights is the museum's new immersive theatre experience, featuring a five-minute film titled Homeward, which features a first-person point of view of a fighter pilot, dropping you into the action of a Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) operation. The curved screens and seat vibrations make it feel as though you've been strapped straight into the cockpit as the RSAF responds to aerial threats.
Beyond the theatre, the museum's Full Spectrum gallery uses large-scale projection mapping, operational footage and digital animation to showcase how the RSAF stays mission-ready across a range of scenarios. Elsewhere, The Viewing Gallery brings the stories behind fighter jets, missile systems and air force assets to life through interactive storytelling displays.
Along the way, you'll discover how a small nation with limited space transformed geographical constraints into strategic strengths, tracing the RSAF's evolution from its early beginnings to the sophisticated operations of today. The final Ever Ready gallery shines a spotlight on the people behind the uniforms, featuring a runway-style showcase that celebrates the diverse roles and dedication of RSAF personnel past and present.
Of course, aviation fans will still find plenty to geek out over. The museum's iconic outdoor aircraft displays remain a must-see, offering up-close views of some of the RSAF's most recognisable aircraft. But even if you can't tell a fighter jet from a commercial airliner, the refreshed experience is designed to appeal to curious explorers and families alike.
The little ones can let their imaginations take flight at the themed play spaces, complete with aircraft-inspired installations, climbable replicas and a fully sheltered outdoor playground, inspired by the C-130 Hercules. It's a welcome addition for families, turning a museum visit into a full-fledged day of discovery, play and adventure.
Visit during the opening fortnight and you'll also find free activities including aircraft-themed personality quizzes, paper craft workshops, colouring stations and social media giveaways – perfect for keeping the little ones entertained during the June school holidays. Find out more here.
