Whether you're a seasoned photographer or just enjoy capturing moments in your free time, Canon needs no introduction. Each year, the brand hosts the Canon PhotoMarathon – a national photography competition open to shutterbugs of all levels. With a total of $50,000 worth of Canon gear up for grabs, the event draws in hundreds of participants each year.
Now in its 19th edition, the Canon PhotoMarathon champions photography as a powerful form of visual storytelling and creative expression. This year's theme, One Click, One Vibe, encouraged participants to explore the emotional and narrative potential of an image. Held on July 19, 2025 at Fountain Square @ Clarke Quay, the event attracted more than 600 competitors, all eager to take on the challenge. Contestants were presented with three surprise themes, Home, Vintage, and Vibe(s), that were revealed at different intervals throughout the day. For each round, participants had only two hours to envision, shoot, and submit their best photo interpretation of the theme.
According to the judging panel, this year’s themes demanded a greater degree of creativity and originality, prompting photographers to push their personal boundaries. Judges were particularly impressed by the wide range of perspectives and how each participant told a unique story through their images.
