ABCD: Four Plays

Conceived by Vertical Submarine – an art collective well-known for their visual works – who are also the associate artistic directors of TheatreWorks, ABCD: Four Plays is centred on a series of conversations between a brother and sister, a prostitute and her customer, a man and his lover, and a traitor and his confidante. The title of the piece refers to three 20th century Argentine writers – Roberto Arlt, Jorge Luis Borges and Julio Cortazar – as well as French writer Marguerite Duras (Arlt, Borges, Cortazar and Duras, hence A, B, C, D) whose works inspired the play’s dialogues. In line with Vertical Submarine’s previous stage works, this performance will take the form of a reading.
